DEPUTY GOVERNOR CHIEF CRWTHER HAS FACILITATED A MOVEMENT.

Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth has facilitated a movement of Adamawa State Muslims Council under the leadership of mallam Gambo Jika to move round the 21 local government chapters on thank you visit and to also pray for peaceful coexistence and religious harmony in the state.

Mallam Jika made the call when he visited  Mosques in  Madagali, Michika, Mubi North and Mubi South .

Speaking  on behalf Governor AUF  Mallam Jika called on Muslims brothers across the various LGAs  to bury their political and religious differences and join hands with current administration for development to strive in the state while building a peaceful atmosphere for the benefit of all a d sundry.

Mallam Jika also reiterated the commitment of Governor AUF led administration in  ensuring security of lives and property throughout the state. He thereafter called on Muslims brothers to support the current administration by shunning all vices that will bring division and led to any  chaotic situation.

The chairman also drew  the attention of various Islamic scholars to always preach on the dangers of drug abuse to Muslim faithfuls more as the youth since they are the future leaders.

The chairman also hinted  that Governor AUF has set up some administrative apparatus to deal with the menace in the state.

 Responding, the Chairman Muslims Council Madagali Local Government Branch Mallam Abubakar Lawan Kanuri applauded the initiative of Governor AUF saying such kind gesture will go along way in fostering unity amongst the two major religious bodies in the state

In Michika, the Chairman Muslim Council  Michika branch Alhaji Abbas Buba received the  Governor AUF delegation at Buba Marwa Civic Center  where he charged Muslims brothers to always pray for the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in order to achieve the much needed peace and development in the state

In their separate remarks the Chairman Muslims Council Mubi North Ustaz Ibrahim Umar Dan Mama expressed delight and thanks to the  Almighty Allah for  the gesture and called on Muslim's faithful to always  pray for Governor AUF to succeed in office in other to  provide the  enabling environment for businesses to strive in various communities and the state in general

In the same vain the chairman Muslims Council Mubi South Mallam Yusuf  commended the thank you visit saying  it goes along way in promoting religious harmony in the state. He also prayed for Governor AUF to have good advisers that will guide him towards achieving his campaign promises made to the electorate.

Climax of the event was the courtesy visit to the Emir of Mubi Dr. Abubakar Isa Ahmadu who  gave the royal blessings and also  prayed for Governor AUF to achieve success on his mandate.

IMPEACH GOVS WHO REFUSE TO PAR MINIMUM WAGE,NLC TELLS STATE

The organised labour has appealed to state Houses of Assembly to identify with workers by compelling governors to pay the new minimum wage.

General-Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Emmanuel Ugboaja, made the appeal while fielding questions from journalists on Sunday in Lagos.

According to Ugboaja, any governor who refuses to pay the minimum wage should be impeached.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum had said governors would not pay beyond their individual capacities.

However, the NLC scribe said there was no basis for the governors to complain about payment of the N30,000 minimum wage, arguing that they had the capacity to pay.

“It is criminal to say you cannot pay the new minimum wage. Some of these leaders ride in private jet, so they can pay,’’ Ugboaja said.

He said the organised labour was in support of the return of the Labour Advisory Council, which would help to mediate between government and workers.

He urged the Federal Government to take actions against employers who would not pay the new wage.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari signed the N30,000 minimum wage law on April 18.

After that, labour and the government debated heavily on the consequential adjustment 0n workers’ salaries.

On October 18, both parties agreed on 23.2 percentage increase for workers on grade level 07 and 20 per cent for those on grade level 08, while 19 per cent would be received by workers on grade level 09, sixteen per cent for those from levels 10 to 14 and 14 per cent for grade levels 15 to 17.

THE ADAMAWA GOVERNMENT HAS RECEIVED A DONATION OF RELIEF MATERIALS

The Adamawa Government has recieved a donation of relief materials from the North East Development Commission as a part of palliative consultation to ease the suffering of some victims affected by the flood disaster.

Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth in company of the SSG Eng Bashir Ahmed recieved the the donation from NEDC on behalf of the State appreciated the gesture while reiterating that more of such is needed.

The MD of the North East Development Commission Alh Mohammed Alkali emphasized the need for victims to be helped when ever the need arises.

The Donations Received includes one thousand two hundred (1200 ) Bags of Rice And ten thousand Pieces (10000 ) of Nylon Mats.

FLOOD:ADAMAWA RICE FARMERS WANT CENTRAL BANK TORESCHEDULE LOAN REPAYMENT PLAN

The Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) has appealed to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to reschedule its loan repayment plan for rice farmers in Adamawa, following recent flooding which ravaged rice farms in the state.
The state’s RIFAN Chairman, Stephen Maduwa, made the appeal in an interview with the newsmen on Thursday in Yola.
Mr Maduwa said the appeal became necessary because many of the rice farmers were beneficiaries of the CBN Anchor Borrowers’ scheme and were expected to repay their loan soon.
He said the farmers were looking forward to a bumper harvest before the flooding wreaked havoc on the farms.
“It is a great loss to farmers and the loan repayment is going to be a serious issue; that is why we are calling on CBN for a consideration,” Mr Maduwa said.
Also speaking, a rice and maize farmer, Phineas Elisha, said the flood took farmers by surprise and the destruction was devastating.
Mr Elisha said they used to experience flood in August and September over the years, adding that the coming of the flood in October when farmers were set for harvest, was shocking.
“Most of us that had our produce ready for evacuation, particularly along the banks of River Benue, lost all.
“Rice, maize and whatever we had are all gone with the flood,” Mr Elisha said.
He urged the Federal Government to liaise with farmers’ groups like RIFAN and North-East Commodity Association (NECAS) towards cushioning the effects of the flood on farmers.

GOVERNOR AHMADU FINTIRI,OTHERS AT ISTANBUL PPP EVENT

H.E Governor Ahmad Umaru Fintiri and his Ekiti, Kwara, Imo and Yobe State counterparts, Kayode Fayemi, Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq, Emeka Ihedioha and Mala Buni respectively at the presentations session of the 4th Istanbul Public Private Partnership [PPP] Week.

The technical sessions took place over the last two days.

The 4th Istanbul PPP Week is being attended by participats from 33 countries.

Dr Eyub Vural Aydin, Chairman of Istanbul Public Private Partnership Centre of Excellence [PPPCoE] and Nail Olpak, President of Foreign Economic Relations Board made introductory remarks, underscoring the central role of PPP in project financing and the need to draw from a wide range of experiences.

They argued that the public sector does not - and will not - have the resources to finance transformative projects needed to improve the people's living conditions.

The way to go, therefore, is for the public and private sectors to team up together to do what each could not do on its own.

Dr Aydin said in Turkey, they have since embraced PPP as an effective way of harnessing private capital for funding projects together with the government. He said over the last 15 years, more  than 100 PPP projects were executed at over 100 billion USD.

The Head of PPP Division of the Islamic Development Bank [USDB] Nouman Siddiqi also speaks about what the bank looks at in funding PPP projects in member countries.

His remarks focused on project preparation, including feasibility studies and capacity building.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi speaks on Nigerians effort at putting the regulatory frameworks and capacities needed for an effective PPP environment.

He said more Nigerian state governments are looking to private capital to finance road construction and healthcare projects, among others, adding that at the sub-national level, governors are grappling with the question of sovereign guarantees which some potential PPP partners are looking for.

On the whole, however, he said Nigeria is ripe for investments in agriculture, renewal energy, telecoms etc. He said so much progress has been made in making the country an ideal destination for foreign investments.
