ADAMAWA GOVERNMENT REITERATES COMMITMENTS TO PAYING THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE




As teachers all over the world celebrate teachers day,the Adamawa State Deputy governor Chief Crowther Seth has charged teachers to take education seriously and to also impact positively on the lives of students

Chief Crowther Seth who represented the Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed that this  administration has take the issue of education  serious,  and has since created an  enabling environment for students by declaring  education free throughout the state.

The Deputy governor however assured the teachers of government support and cooperation towards boosting educational system that will be beneficial to all the citizenry .
 He further assured the workers of Adamawa that, the present administration is committed to meeting  their demands which include,new  minimum wage, promotions and several other packages meant to improve their well being.

Earlier, the Adamawa State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers Comrade  Rodney Nathan said  government across the world need to focus on  employing young modern and qualified teachers to sustain the profession  he also called on Government to create an enabling environment for the younger generation to thrive.

According to the NUT Chairman, teaching is a very important business and it is a job which entails trust of parents, community and government. He lamented l successive years of neglect of the sector by government having turned  blind eyes to the progress of the sector  which has  negatively affected the profession .

Nathan called on all concern to appreciate teacher's efforts in uplifting the standard of education, promising to put in their best to key into government policies and programs .

Highligh of the occasion was the presentation of awards to leaders who have immensely contributed to the development of the education sector in Adamawa.

In his remark on behalf of the awardees, Member house representing Jada , Ganye , Toungo and Mayo Belwa constituency  Hon Abdulrazak Namdas  appreciated the NUT in  Adamawa for the award of Execllence and performance bestowed  on  them,adding that education should be giving the  topmost  priority.

There were goodwill messages from the Chairman of NLC, acting chairman of post primary board and a host of others.
