GOVERNOR AHMADU UMARU FINITIRI ALONGSIDE HIS DEPUTY CHIEF CROWTHER SETH,SSG MALAM BASHIR AHMAD AND CHIEF OF STAFF MAXWELL GIDADO TODAY WERE AT THE FLAG OFF AND DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOLS LEARNING MATERIALS THAT INCLUDED 46,440 TEXT BOOKS ,3,800 STUDENTS DESKS, 200 TEACHERS CHAIRS/TABLES AND 26,000 SCIENCE LITERACY CHARTS.

The distribution was done under the State Education Programme  Investment Project SEPIP) . This is done as part of human development interventions  based on limited technical assistance to eligible states that have met the criteria for the result based approach adopted by SEPIP.



The project  hopes to achieve an expansion of Education coverage  and improvements of quality and relevance of education.

The project which is complementing the development partners also has geared its efforts to support the  education sector and its goals. The key partners include African Development Bank (AFDB),DFID,JICA,UNESCO,USAID,UNICEF and the World Bank.

The project initials for Adamawa State is US$23 Million and is expected to help Adamawa in

Strengthening school level management accountability through school based Management Committee in implementing and improving plans for better school  performance

To invest in systematic measurement of students learning outcome

To strengthen monitoring and evaluation implementation activities and processes for schools in Adamawa State

The project will also improve and develop the capacity of
Teachers deployed to insurgency affected areas

Schools will receive  grants
Teachers will be trained in psychosocial and pedagogy  dealing with displacements and trauma etc

Governor Fintiri appreciated the gesture adding that the Adamawa State Government will do all it can to complement the gesture extended and further appeal to beneficiary schools to make judicious use of the material promising also to consolidate on the gains that will be recorded from the programme.
