He was accompanied on the visit by his Deputy Chief Crowther Seth,  Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), Dr. Mohammed Sulaiman, Managing Director, Savannah Sugar, Raja Setak and other government officials.

The entourage arrived amidst cheering by the people community as well as stranded commuters for the prompt response, which attributed to a leadership style that is people centered. Moved by emotions at the plight of the people, he assured them of quick interventions of the State and Federal Governments as he has already put a call across to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Works and that palliatives will be put in place in less than 48 hours.

While responding to a question on why there has been delays in the completion of the road construction which was awarded more than three years ago, the Governor blamed it on  awarding contracts to incompetent firms. He also called on the Federal Government be more thorough in screening firms before awarding contracts.

Governor Fintiri called on the Contractor handling the flag the Boshkiri bridge as a top priority and to suspend every other location to accord necessary attention with a view to alleviating the sufferings of commuters and to curb any security issues that may befall the community as a result of hoodlums that may cash in on the situation. He also appealed to the Management of Savannah Sugar Company to as part of its cooperate social responsibility, come to the aid of the community and to continue to partner the State Government in developing the State.

Earlier in an interview the Transition Chairman of Lamurde Local Government Area, Mr. Dimas Ezra, who was already on ground coordinating immediate measures aimed at decongesting the gridlock said the council has hired tippers to sand-fill some portions of the road. He said the council was constrained by funds in terms of what it can do and appeals to the State Government for assistance

The bridge which was destroyed by the Incessant rainfalls witnessed in the past few weeks in the state has left many commuters stranded on the usually busy Yola-Gombe Highway which also links Adamawa and Taraba States to the rest of the country. The highway is also of immense economic significance to the states trucks carrying goods worth millions of Naira ply the roads daily and willing investors in both states also use this road.
