A non-governmental organization NORTHERN YOUTH PEACE AND RECONCILIATION INITIATIVE (NYPARI) has commented the president muhammadu Buhari lead administration over the handling of the xenophobic crisis that erupted in South Africa.
The Director General of the organization Sir A A Lawan Uba (Danmaliki chikasoro adamawa)disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
Lawan uba condemned the xenophobic act by the South Africans and called on the Nigerian Youth to avoid the temptation of engaging in any reprisal attacks he noted that though Nigerians have a good reason to fight but cautioned them by saying two wrongs do not make a right and urge them to please calm down as the government has already taken steps to protect Nigerians.
We wish to use this medium to condemn the xenophobic attacks being perpetrated by some misguided citizens of South Africa and urge the government of South Africa to take a hard stance on the perpetrators.
We also wish to use this opportunity to plead with Nigerians especially the youth to avoid taking laws into their hands by attacking citizens of South Africans or their business interests.
Lawan uba also commented the Nigerian government for taking the steps it has taken so far with regards to her timely intervention both in protecting citizens of South Africa in Nigeria as granted.
THE NORTHERN YOUTH PEACE AND RECONCILIATION INITIATIVE (NYPARI)wishes to commend the president Muhammadu buhari lead administration for recalling the Nigerian High commissioner to South Africa calling off our participation at the world Economic forum and offering of free flight to enable stranded Nigerians to return among other measures.He said.
Lawan uba egually called on all Nigerians to support the government's efforts of finding solution to mitigating the incessant xenophobic attacks that are fast eroding our values as Africans.
